Farm Inputs Care Centre (FICA) Limited was incorporated in Uganda in 1999 and started seed business in 2001. FICA has grown to become a medium size company with growth to 3,000 metric tons of seed produced and sold annually. The company is engaged in the complete value chain of seeds, namely, variety development and mainte-nance, seed multiplication, processing and marketing. FICA has
diversified product portfolio, including seeds for field crops, vegetable seeds, agricultural chemicals, fertilizers, tools and implements. The company has its head office at Kawempe in Kampala and other operational centres in Masindi and Kasese. In Masindi, FICA has extensive land for seed production (more than 5 square miles of land), a seed processing factory with warehouses and a farm unit with stores and staff quarters. In Kasese, FICA is in the process of installing a seed processing plant at Abasaijak-
weyamba Farming Cooperative Society where there is seed production on contract with farmers in the Mubuku Irrigation Scheme.

FICA also owns an industrial plot whose title is being processed in the names of the Company. In addition to supplying high quality seed and planting material, FICA prides itself on being close to small-holder farmers and providing agricultural advice as part of its customer service. FICA is dedicated to producing and marketing seeds and other planting materials to small-scale farmers across Uganda and its neighboring countries. It was among the first private companies to delve into the newly liberalized Ugandan seed industry. Our current focus is on up-scaling seed production, processing, dissemination and sales and distribution systems of the company. We have in place facilities and processes to support achievement of the growth targeted.
